The international M.A. tracks will familiarize you with theories regarding national and international negotiations, international and domestic law, the rights of minorities and God and state concepts. Studying these areas in Israel gives students a unique look to life in the Middle East in a way that cannot be matched by learning of it on the news. You can visit various sites and organizations and meet people residing in Israel in order to get a better understanding of life and conflicts in Israel.
Study Programs
Several Israeli academic institutions offer M.A. programs in Political Science entirely in English. Students get a better understanding of leading political theories, Israeli society and the Middle Eastern conflicts, and take a close look at politics in other areas of the world. The programs aim to give students a better perspective on the social, cultural and religious processes that shape politics worldwide. Students can even focus especially on the role of media in shaping and changing domestic and international politics.
Study Structure
There are one-year (three semesters) and two-year tracks (four semesters). However, students can complete a thesis only at two-year tracks. Besides of theoretical courses, students will also attend practical workshops such as debates and conflict resolution as well as field trips around Israel. Note some programs require students to take mandatory Hebrew courses.

Candidates must complete an undergraduate degree in a related field such as politics, government, journalism, sociology etc., with an average of 3.0 or above (80 or above). Students who wish to take a thesis track need an average of 88 or higher (3.4). Candidates who did not complete their undergraduate studies in an English speaking country must take an English proficiency test (such as IELTS).
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees for the one year tracks are approx. $15,000 - $17,000. In the two-year track the fees are approx. $10,000 per year.
Academic Institutions
Bar Ilan University (Ramat Gan) - at Bar Ilan University, students can participate in an M.A. in political science – Middle Eastern religion and Politics. This is an online program that spans two years.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem – Offers a one-year M.A. track in "Israel Studies: Politics and Society". Students of the program must take mandatory Modern Hebrew classes. The program focuses mainly on Israeli society, media, history, religion and culture.
Tel Aviv University - offers a one year track in Political Science and Political Communication. The program focuses mainly on the impact of the media on modern politics. Students will discuss study cases regarding international conflicts, domestic elections, revolutions etc.
University of Haifa – offers three M.A. specializations in Political Science and International Relations. Students can choose to specialize in homeland security studies, diplomacy studies or peace and conflict management for their M.A. degree.
Reichman University (Herzliya) – offers a master's in government program. Students may choose to specialize in one of the following areas: diplomacy and conflict studies or counter-terrorism and homeland security studies.
