MA Behavioral Economics at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya)
 
The MA graduate program in behavioral economics at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) integrates tools on psychology and economics and allows students to gain advanced knowledge regarding economic policy and social change. This is a joint program of the university’s school of economics and psychology, this cooperation creates an interdisciplinary program that can help enrich and develop professionals in this field.
 
During their studies, students will attempt to deal with current dilemmas that concern our lives such as factors influencing decisions when taking economic risks, emotions vs logic in decision making, forces shaping decisions made under conditions of uncertainty, and more.
 
 

 

Study program
 
Students are provided with theoretical and applied knowledge in economics, psychology and public policy. They gain a deep understanding of the links between the three disciplines and gain practical tools necessary for behavioral economics today. The program allows them to gain hands-on experience with interventions and policies aimed at the improvement of decision making.
 

 

 

Structure and duration
 
The duration of this program is two academic years, it comprises 9 mini semesters, each mini semester spans 6 weeks. Courses are given twice a week, including Fridays.
 
Students may choose between a research track with a thesis and a non-thesis track with a final project. They must decide on their preferred tack until the end of the fourth mini semester.
 
During their studies, students take part in required and elective courses, advanced and applied courses, and seminars.
 
In addition, the program offers top students internships in the field of behavioral economics.

Admissions
 
This program I suitable for both international and Israeli students who are interested in human behavior and are motivated to help lead social change and assist organizations and individuals better their lives.
 
Candidates in this interdisciplinary program can come from different backgrounds such as economics, psychology, law, sociology, computer science and other relevant subjects.
 
In order to apply, an undergraduate degree I any field with a point average of 80 and above is required.
In addition, applicants must submit a personal statement with expectations from the program, professional goals and interest points in the program and field of study. They must also hold an excellent command of English. Interviews are conducted via Skype or in person.
 

 

 

Diploma
 
Graduates of this program receive an M.A. degree in behavioral economics.
 

 

 

About
 
At the Raphael Recanati International School, students from around the world can take part in different graduate and undergraduate study programs.
